Where are we in the adoption from foster care?

No where to be exact...

You've gotta love the state foster care system. I met with the directors from Project Zero a few weeks ago to see what our current status is in the world of DCFS adoption. Project Zero is only an organization that works along aside DCFS but doesn't have any say in the actual placement of kids. They were able to find out that my ex-resource worker only opened us as a foster home and not an adoption home. Grrrr!!! I specifically asked our ex-resource worker in November before she left about placing our file with the county adoption unit. I even have an email confirming that she indeed did this. Not so. The adoption unit never received anything from her about our family.

I guess in the long run that this is for the best. We've just placed our home up for sale. And this is what I told the wonderful directors from Project Zero that we will not be ready until our home either sells/doesn't sell (we're giving it 6 months to see what happens with the sale of the house).

It just saddens my heart. There are so many kids in the world that need a stable, loving home. I am burdened with this thought on a daily basis. And here we are, like so many other families, caught in a bureaucratic ordeal of red tape and miscommunication! My heart weeps for the both the orphaned children and families that want them.
