I haven't posted in almost 2 weeks. Things have been hectic around here...
My dad came to town to help paint 2 bathrooms and fix several minor issues in the house.
Ben stained the front fence.
I've been decluttering and packing away items into our storage bin.
And Meili has been in the middle of it all.
Why?
Because we are selling our house.
On Friday, the realtor took photos for the MLS. On Saturday, we officially listed the house. Today, we received an offer. It's not a full price offer so we countered to about the half way point. I'm praying that it's accepted. If so, then we have a closing date at the end of March.
By selling the house, it frees up a lot of money each month. Money that could be used for, oh I don't know, an adoption from China.
Or a vacation! I haven't been on one of these in a few years. It would be nice to go somewhere this summer.
The reality of our situation is just that we can't afford a large, beautiful home AND multiple adoptions AND yearly vacations to foreign destinations. After a lot of talk and prayer, we decided that we wanted more children and global treks versus a large, beautiful home. I'd rather take my kids to see the pyramids in Egypt, hike a glacier in Alaska, or enjoy a Peruvian sunset. I traveled extensively as a child and I want the same for my children.
It's about choices.... and we've chosen children and adventure. Well, maybe not extreme adventure. I don't want to be away from modern conveniences, like air conditioning or running water. But you get the idea.
Sounds all so exciting! Fingers crossed u sell quickly!!
